A Journey from Delhi to Pachmarhi: An Enchanting Escape
Day 1: June 27 - Departure from Delhi
Our adventure begins on the morning of June 27, as we board the Sampark Kranti Express from Delhi. The train departs at 7:50 AM, and we settle into our seats, excited for the journey ahead. As the train chugs along, we enjoy the changing landscapes, transitioning from the bustling cityscape of Delhi to the serene vistas of the countryside. By 4:15 PM, we arrive at Pipariya, our gateway to Pachmarhi.
From Pipariya, we take a scenic taxi ride to Pachmarhi, approximately 55 kilometers away. The drive takes about 1.5 hours, and as we ascend, the air grows cooler and fresher. We check into our cozy hotel in Pachmarhi, unwind, and prepare for the adventures that await.
Day 2: June 28 - Exploring Pachmarhi
Our first full day in Pachmarhi starts with a visit to the Jata Shankar Caves. These naturally formed caves are steeped in spirituality and offer a tranquil setting to begin our exploration. Next, we head to the historic Pandav Caves, believed to have been carved by the Pandavas during their exile. The caves are a fascinating blend of history and mythology, surrounded by lush greenery.
In the afternoon, we make our way to Bee Falls, one of Pachmarhi's most popular attractions. The cascading water and the refreshing pool below are perfect for a cooling dip. As evening falls, we take a leisurely walk around the town, soaking in the local culture and visiting the vibrant market.
Day 3: June 29 - Trekking to Chauragarh
Today is dedicated to adventure. We rise early and gear up for our trek to Chauragarh. The trail, approximately 4 kilometers one way, is moderately challenging but immensely rewarding. As we hike through the dense forest, the sound of chirping birds and the rustling leaves create a symphony of nature.
After about 3-4 hours, we reach the summit, where the Chauragarh Temple stands. This temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a significant pilgrimage site. The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking, making the trek worthwhile. We spend some time soaking in the serene atmosphere before trekking back to Pachmarhi.
In the afternoon, we return to our hotel for a well-deserved rest. The evening is spent at leisure, perhaps visiting a local café or simply enjoying the peaceful ambiance of Pachmarhi.
Day 4: June 30 - Sightseeing in Pachmarhi
Our day begins with a visit to Dhupgarh, the highest point in the Satpura range. The views from here are spectacular, especially during sunrise. After a serene morning, we head to Apsara Vihar in the afternoon. This small waterfall, with its inviting pool, is perfect for a picnic and a refreshing swim.
In the evening, we visit Pachmarhi Lake. Boating on the calm waters as the sun sets behind the hills is a perfect way to end the day. The serene environment and the gentle breeze make it a memorable experience.
Day 5: July 1 - Return Journey
On our last morning in Pachmarhi, we take it slow. We relax at our hotel, do some last-minute shopping, or visit any place we might have missed. By early afternoon, it's time to bid farewell to this beautiful hill station and head back to Pipariya.
We board the Sampark Kranti Express at 3:50 PM, ready for our journey back to Delhi. As the train leaves Pipariya, we reminisce about the wonderful experiences and the enchanting beauty of Pachmarhi. The train ride back is filled with reflections of a trip well-spent.
